Fire Safety Signs

Fire safety signage for offices, warehouses, construction sites, factories, farms, and hospitality venues across Ireland. Every sign printed to Irish fire safety regulations and IS EN ISO 7010:2020.

Fire signage falls into two categories: red signs that mark the location of firefighting equipment, and green signs that mark escape routes and emergency exits. Both are legally required in any occupied workplace.

What we cover

Fire extinguisher signs. Mark the location of each extinguisher so it can be found fast. We stock signs for all extinguisher types: water, foam, CO2, and dry powder. Each sign identifies the type so users grab the right one for the fire.

Fire exit and escape route signs. Arrow signs for corridors, stairwells, and open-plan spaces. Left, right, and upward arrow variants. Green and white design that stays visible in low light. These signs must form a continuous chain from any point in the building to the nearest exit.

Fire alarm call points. Red signs marking the location of break-glass alarm points. Required near exits and at regular intervals along escape routes.

Fire assembly point signs. Mark the outdoor gathering point where people should go after evacuating. Every site with more than one worker needs one.

Fire hose, hydrant, and fire point signs. Mark the location of hose reels, hydrant access points, and fire points for first responders and trained staff.

Supplementary signs. "Do not extinguish with water", "fire hose keep clear", "fire phone", and "fire axe" location signs. The supporting signage that rounds out a complete fire safety setup.

The Irish colour system for fire signs

Under Irish regulations, fire safety signs use two colours. Red rectangles identify firefighting equipment (extinguishers, hoses, alarm points). Green rectangles mark safe conditions (exits, escape routes, assembly points). Blue circle signs appear on some fire equipment to indicate the extinguisher type. Getting the colour wrong means the sign is non-compliant.

Choosing the right material

Most fire signs live indoors and stay put for years.

Self-adhesive vinyl is the go-to for indoor fire signage. It sticks flat to painted walls, doors, and partitions. Clean finish, no fixings needed. Lasts up to 5 years and is laminated for wipe-clean durability.

Rigid PVC works well on walls where you'd rather screw-mount than stick. Common in stairwells, plant rooms, and corridors where signs take more of a knock.

For outdoor fire signage (assembly points, hydrant markers, fire points on construction sites), aluminium composite is the right call. It handles years of weather without fading or warping.

Correx suits temporary setups. If you're running a construction site or event and need fire signage for a few months, it does the job without the cost of permanent materials.
